Welcome to the new Long Beach Comic Con! My name is Ben Penrod and my company Nerd Street is now in charge of LBCC. We also run Twin Cities Con, Des Moines Con, Central Florida Comic Con, and Alaska ComiCon. We are incredibly hyped to be taking over LBCC from MAD Event Management, and we can’t wait to share our plans for 2026 and beyond with you!
First, a little about myself and the team that’s going to be working on Long Beach Comic Con from now on. Way back in the early 2000s, I started selling comic books online and at comic cons, and then about 15 years ago, I started my own cons in Maryland and DC. We’ve since expanded to Florida, Alaska, Minnesota, and Iowa. My team includes three full-time staff and a number of experienced contractors who have worked on hundreds of events all over the country.
I have spoken to so many people about Long Beach Comic Con and about all of the great memories that have been made at this event over the years. I want to get back to creating fantastic memories, as I think that’s what these types of events are for! My vision is for LBCC to be, foremost, a local con for fans who live in the immediate area around Long Beach, and branching outward into LA County and Orange County. I don’t want LBCC to feel like a chore, or for people to worry about spending all day waiting in lines. I just want it to be fun. We are going to focus on comics, artists, creators, and cosplay, like always, but we are also going to bring in some amazing celebrities, and build up our programming lineup like never before.
We have some great plans for 2026, and we’ve started announcing some celebrity guests and there are many more to come. Tickets are on sale now. I can’t wait to see everyone on Labor Day Weekend this year!
