With a career spanning nearly two decades, award-nominated actor Brandon Jay McLaren has
built a powerful presence in film and television—bringing unforgettable characters to life on
screen and leaving his mark behind the camera as a creative force as a producer and director.
Most recently, he starred alongside Toni Collette in the highly applauded Netflix
thriller “Wayward,” created by and co-starring Mae Martin. The eight-episode series unfolds in a
seemingly idyllic town hiding dark secrets, diving into the twisted world of the troubled teen
industry and the relentless fight for the soul of the next generation. “Wayward” premiered
September 2025 via Netflix with TIME stating, “an extraordinary new series,” Variety
calling it, “a thrilling watch” and RogerEbert naming it [Wayward], “strong and smart.”
McLaren was most recently seen starring in season 3 of the Fox drama “The Cleaning Lady”
opposite Elodie Yung, created and executive produced by Miranda Kwok. McLaren was a fan
favorite as Jeremy Dolan, a smart, affable handyman who strikes an instant connection with
Thony (Yung) but is hiding a secret as to his true intentions. He is also well known for
appearing on FX’s critically acclaimed drama series “Snowfall” as Buckley, in ABC’s hit action
series “The Rookie” alongside Nathan Fillion, and starring as Oliver Yates on CBS’ action
drama “Ransom.” From 2013-15 McLaren starred as Dale “DJ” Jakes across three seasons on
the hit USA Network crime drama “Graceland,” for which he received a 2015 Golden Maple
Award for Best Actor.
